What is Physics of Music?
This course explores the interplay between physics and music. Many people ask, "Do I need to know physics or music to take this course?". The answer is no. This course takes students on a journey from the beginnings of science and early music to the modern age of synthesizers, quantum physics, and gravitational waves.
A little bit of history on the course
This course was originally developed by Dr. George Gibson, where H. Pechkis was inspired by it as a teaching assistant for the laboratory portion. H. and J. Pechkis were determined to have their own version of this course up and running when they arrived at CSU, Chico, where it have been offered each semester for the past two years.
